Raised Pie
Ingredients
Directions
Rub 1 oz of butter and 1 oz of lard into the flour.
In a pan, combine the remaining butter, lard, milk, and water; bring to a boil.
Once boiling, add the mixture to the flour and knead to a smooth paste.
Divide the dough into 3 or 4 pieces, reserving a small amount for the lids.
Keep the reserved dough warm and shape the rest into hollow pies.
When the pies are high enough, fill them with meat.
Add 1 teaspoon of cold water, cover with a lid, and brush the top with beaten egg or milk.
