To Boil Turnips
Ingredients
Directions
Pare the fibrous rind from the turnips and either split them once or leave them whole.
Place the turnips in boiling water that is slightly salted.
Cover the pot closely to keep out smoke and dust until the turnips are tender.
Boil small, young turnips for 15 to 20 minutes; full-grown turnips for 45 minutes to 1 hour or more.
