Roly Poly Jam Pudding

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Make a rich paste with flour and butter or beef dripping.

  2. Roll out the paste as lightly and thinly as possible.

  3. Cut the rolled paste to a width of 8 or 10 inches, and length as desired.

  4. Spread a liberal layer of jam on the paste, leaving an inch at the edges bare.

  5. Roll the paste over the jam, wrap it in a well-floured cloth.

  6. Boil the wrapped pudding for 2 to 3 hours, depending on size.

  7. Cut and serve as illustrated.
