Apple Marmalade

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 375°F (190°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Soak the dried apples in water the day before to rehydrate them.

  2. In a pot, combine the rehydrated apples with sugar, butter, and lemon.

  3. Simmer the mixture until well combined.

  4. Dissolve gelatin in water and add it to the marmalade.

  5. Pour the marmalade into a plain mold and place a cover or plate with a weight on top.

  6. Bake in a 375°F (190°C) oven for 45 minutes.

  7. Serve with cream or Swiss milk.
