Capsicums, Pickled

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Make puff pastry according to your preferred recipe.

  2. Roll out the pastry very thin and cut into pieces about 2 inches wide and 8 inches long.

  3. Place a spoonful of jam on each piece, wet the edges with egg white, and fold the pastry over twice.

  4. Press the edges together to seal the jam inside.

  5. Fry in hot lard until golden brown, then let them rest by the fire to ensure the pastry is cooked through.

  6. Drain on paper, sprinkle with sifted sugar, and serve.
