Sole Pie

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Remove the fins from the soles and season them with salt, pepper, nutmeg, and mace.

  2. Layer the seasoned soles with the oysters in a baking dish.

  3. Add the oyster liquor and broth (if using) to the dish, along with some butter.

  4. If there is enough sauce, skip the cream; otherwise, boil the milk with flour to thicken it.

  5. Pour the thickened cream or milk into the pie before serving.
