Muffins and Crumpets

Ingredients

• butter

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

1. Clip the edges of the muffins so they pull apart easily.

2. Heat the muffins in an oven at 350°F (175°C) or on a hob before toasting.

3. Toast the muffins until very crisp.

4. Rub a small amount of butter on the outside of the toasted muffins.

5. Pull the muffins open and place a good amount of butter inside while hot.

6. Serve immediately with a cover.
