Mince Pies

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Mix all ingredients well, moistening with sherry, brandy, or whiskey, but do not make it too wet.

  2. Prepare greased flat patty pans and line them with tart or short pastry (or 3-turn puff pastry).

  3. Fill each with a heaping dessert spoonful of the mincemeat.

  4. Cover with pastry, trim edges evenly, and finish with a pastry jigger.

  5. Pierce a small hole in the top for steam to escape, or leave unpierced for a puffed crust.

  6. Dust with caster sugar or frost with sugar as desired.
