Potatoes, Baked

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Wash the potatoes in lukewarm water and scrub the skins with a soft brush.

  2. Dry the potatoes thoroughly.

  3. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  4. Place the potatoes in the oven and bake until done, turning them a few times during baking.

  5. Do not leave them in the oven after they are cooked to prevent them from becoming hard and shriveled.

  6. Serve on a hot napkin and send pats of butter to the table with them.
