Banana a LA Cuban

Ingredients

Directions

The book says “a moderate oven”. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps is the modern equivalent, not the book's own figure.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Peel the bananas and place them in a baking dish.

  3. Add several small pieces of butter on top of the bananas.

  4. Dredge the bananas well with powdered sugar.

  5. Bake for 30 minutes.

  6. Remove the dish from the oven and transfer the bananas to a serving dish.

  7. Add the same number of teaspoons of lemon juice to the syrup in the baking dish as there are bananas.

  8. Pour the syrup over the bananas and serve hot or cold.
