Another Way to Pickle Gherkins

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Place gherkins in a jar.

  2. Boil enough vinegar to cover them and add a little salt.

  3. Set the jar near the fire and boil the vinegar daily for five to six days, keeping it covered to retain steam.

  4. Prepare fresh vinegar with black and white pepper and ginger.

  5. Add the gherkins to the fresh vinegar and simmer slowly until they look green.

  6. Once cool, store them in a dry place.
