Candied Sweet Potatoes

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Oil, skin, and slice enough sweet potatoes to fill a pudding dish.

  2. Layer sweet potatoes in the bottom of the dish.

  3. Sprinkle a light layer of sugar over the potatoes, add bits of butter, and a little syrup.

  4. Repeat layering until the dish is full.

  5. Bake in the oven at 400°F (200°C) until rich brown.
