Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Isinglass
Sets the cream into a soft, sliceable gel as it cools.
Cream
Gives the dessert its rich, smooth body and mouthfeel.
Powdered sugar
Adds sweetness and dissolves easily into the cream mixture.
Jelly
Forms a fruity, sweet base under the cream and adds flavour.

The step that matters

Boil for 4 to 5 minutes. The isinglass must be fully dissolved and evenly mixed into the cream before it cools. If it is not evenly distributed, the gel may set unevenly or weakly.

How well each one fits the dish's main ingredients (milk, sugar, cream, apricot):

  1. Vanillafits better
