Mustard Poultice

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Mix dry mustard with enough cold water to make a thick paste.

  2. Stir for 2-3 minutes until well combined.

  3. Spread the paste on a piece of cotton.

  4. Cover the side to be applied with a handkerchief or muslin.

  5. Fold down the edges and tack them to prevent mustard from escaping.

  6. Warm the poultice briefly over a fire or heated plate before applying.

  7. Apply the poultice for 10-20 minutes.

  8. After removal, place clean wadding or soft cotton on the skin.
