Bacon-Wrapped Oysters
Ingredients
Directions
The book gives no oven temperature. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.
Cut the bacon into strips about 1 inch wide and 3 inches long.
Roll each strip of bacon and thread it onto a skewer, alternating with an oyster.
Repeat until the skewer is full.
Place the skewers on a baking sheet and cook in a 400°F (200°C) oven for about 10 minutes.
Transfer the bacon and oysters from the skewers to a hot dish and serve immediately.
Transcribed from a scanned cookbook and modernised for today's kitchens. Where the book gave no heat or time, or said "a moderate oven", the temperatures and times here may be modern equivalents rather than the book's own figures.
