Corns

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Carefully pare the corns with a sharp knife without drawing blood.

  2. Apply the solid stick of nitrate of silver to the corn.

  3. In 2-3 days, scrape away the hardened surface.

  4. A small pinkish blister will appear; paint it with a 5% solution of cocaine.

  5. Make a small incision to allow pus to escape.

  6. Apply lead lotion dressing.

  7. Dissolve a few pearl buttons in lemon juice to create an ointment; apply on a rag for a few days.

  8. For pain relief, apply a mixture of equal parts glycerine and carbolic acid with a camel’s hair pencil.
