Mince Pie

Oven, in the book's wordsA hot oven

Ingredients

Directions

The book says “a hot oven”. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps is the modern equivalent, not the book's own figure.

  1. Grease and dust a pie tin with flour.

  2. Line the tin with pie crust.

  3. Fill with mince meat.

  4. Cover with a top crust, cutting holes in it.

  5. Bake at 400°F (200°C) until light brown and the mince meat bubbles through the holes.

Recipe from a historical cookbook (Internet Archive).
