Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour and sugar.

  2. Add enough milk to create a batter thicker than for buckwheat cakes.

  3. Beat the egg whites until stiff and fold them into the batter.

  4. For a quicker version, soak bread crumbs in milk overnight, then rub them and add eggs, baking powder, and melted butter.

  5. If using immediately, moisten bread with hot water, strain, and mix with other ingredients.

  6. Adjust consistency with additional milk if necessary.
