Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. In a buttered dish, layer the mashed apple sauce.

  3. Add a few lumps of butter on top.

  4. Sprinkle a layer of cracker or bread-crumbs mixed with cinnamon.

  5. Repeat the layers, finishing with a layer of crumbs.

  6. Bake in the oven until hot.

  7. Serve warm with cold, sweetened cream.
