Crisped Bacon and Sweet Potatoes

Oven, in the book's wordsA hot oven

Ingredients

Directions

The book says “a hot oven”. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps is the modern equivalent, not the book's own figure.

  1. Cut the cold steamed sweet potatoes in halves.

  2. Wrap each half with a thin slice of bacon and fasten with a toothpick.

  3. Place in a pan and bake in a hot oven at 400°F (200°C) until the potatoes are browned and the bacon is crisp.
