To Preserve Eggs
Ingredients
Directions
Dip eggs in melted suet.
Pack eggs in a jar with the smaller end downwards, layering with coarse sea salt.
Make a solution by pouring boiling water over unslacked lime and cool thoroughly.
Pour the lime solution over the packed eggs, avoiding the sediment.
Store in a cool, dark place.
