Old English Plum Pudding

Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the raisins, currants, suet, brown sugar, flour, bread crumbs, candied orange peel, citron, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, eggs, bitter almonds, and grated carrots.

  2. Mix in the black coffee and molasses.

  3. Add enough sweet cider to moisten the mixture without making it too thin.

  4. Butter a pudding mold well and fill it with the mixture.

  5. Cover the mold and place it in a pot of boiling water, ensuring the water reaches the same height as the pudding.

  6. Boil continuously until done, adding boiling water as needed to maintain the level.
