Crumb Puff Pastry

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together.

  2. Keep the butter as cold as possible and cut it into the flour mixture until crumbs form.

  3. Add the lemon juice and water, mixing using the same cutting-in method.

  4. Pour the dough onto a floured board and handle it as little as possible before rolling to the desired thickness.

  5. Use this pastry for one large pie shell or for 6 large or 8 small pate shells.

  6. For tinted shells, beat and add one egg yolk.
