Scalloped Oysters

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. In a baking pan, combine the oysters with their liquor and milk.

  3. Layer the oysters and crumbed crackers alternately.

  4. Add plenty of butter, pepper, coarse sea salt, and a little ground mace between the layers.

  5. Bake until golden and bubbly.
