Boiled Asparagus
Ingredients
Directions
Wash the asparagus and cut off the tough ends.
Tie the asparagus in a bundle and place it in a saucepan with the tips up.
Pour boiling water into the saucepan until it reaches within 1 inch of the top.
Add 1 teaspoon of salt for each pint of water.
Simmer until the asparagus is tender.
Drain the asparagus and save 1 cup of the cooking water.
Prepare a drawn butter sauce using the saved water and pour it over the hot asparagus.
