Unsupervised Recovery of Food Taxonomy from Volatile Compound Profiles: A UMAP Analysis of 450 Ingredients

Without supervision or human-coded labels, a UMAP projection of 7,464 volatile compounds across 450 ingredients reproduces conventional food categories — and surfaces cross-category molecular bridges that traditional culinary intuition misses.

Characterization and biocontrol potential of Wickerhamomyces subpelliculosus yeasts isolated from dates: Volatile compounds-mediated antifungal activity against mycotoxigenic Penicillium strains.

Seven yeast strains were isolated from Tunisian dates. The strains were identified by sequence analysis of the D1/D2 domain of the nuclear large subunit (LSU) rRNA gene. Based on t... Read full abstract on PubMed →

Studying the Antifungal Effects of Ageratina adenophora (Sprengel) R. King and H. Robinson (=Eupatorium adenophorum Sprengel) as a Bio-Fumigant Plant Alone and in Combination with Biochar Against Pythium aphanidermatum (Edson) Fitz.

Pythium spp. are soil-borne pathogens that cause damping-off and root rot diseases in many plant species such as cucumber. In the current study, the effect of dried roots-st... Read full abstract on PubMed →
