What each ingredient does

Prunes
Provide the main fruit body and natural sweetness once softened.
Figs
Add soft texture and sweetness that thickens into a spreadable fruit mixture.
Sugar
Adds sweetness and helps balance the tartness of the dried fruit.
Sherry wine
Adds aroma and a warm, complex flavour to the stewed fruit.
Whipped cream
Adds fat and a light, creamy contrast to the sweet fruit.
