Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Line the pie dish halfway up with pie crust.

  2. Fill the dish with pieces of stale bread.

  3. Cover with another layer of pie crust.

  4. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for about 15 to 20 minutes.

  5. Remove from oven and fill the pie with prepared oysters.

  6. Cover with the crust again and serve hot.
