Ingredients

Directions

  1. Wash the peas thoroughly.

  2. Boil the peas in a kettle with a false bottom for at least 1 hour, using double the amount of water.

  3. If no false bottom, stir constantly to prevent scorching.

  4. Once soft, strain the peas and divide into portions.

  5. Add the peas to the pork soup along with sliced onions.

  6. Let it boil slowly for 2 hours, skimming occasionally.

  7. Before serving, season with black pepper, salt, and a dash of vinegar.

  8. Mash the soup well before serving.
