A Christmas Plum Pudding

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Mix the suet, raisins, currants, mixed candied peel, sugar, lemon rind, baking powder, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, flour, and bread crumbs together in a large bowl.

  2. Add the lemon juice and brandy, and stir for five minutes.

  3. Prepare a pudding mold by greasing it and covering it with a buttered paper and floured muslin.

  4. Place a saucer upside down in a saucepan and add enough water to cover it by three inches.

  5. Bring the water to a boil, then place the mold on the saucer, cover the saucepan, and steam gently until the pudding is cooked, adding more boiling water as needed.
